Squeezeserver installation [solved]

Hi.

I've been trying to install squeeze box server with no luck. I first used the rpm, which installed ok, but had problems.

If i used "services squeezeboxserver start" I got this,

"The following CPAN modules were found but cannot work with Squeezebox Server:

CGI::Cookie (loaded <not found>, need 1.27)

To fix this problem you have several options:

1. Install the latest version of the module(s) using CPAN: sudo cpan Some::Module

2. Update the module's package using apt-get, yum, etc.

3. Run the .tar.gz version of Squeezebox Server which includes all required CPAN modules."

I uninstalled the RPM and downloaded and unpacked squeezeboxserver-7.4.2-29959.tgz there are no configure or install files. If I use ./slimserver.pl --daemon I get the same error as above.

"The following CPAN modules were found but cannot work with Squeezebox Server:

CGI::Cookie (loaded <not found>, need 1.27)"

What do i need to do to sort this problem?

I'm really at a loss for what to try next, running 2010 btw.

Thanks

Ted

Problem solved guys

Go to http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/MandrivaLinux and follow the instructions. The top script won't work, for obvious reasons. (old)

You can then install modules, i.e. >cpan install CGI::Cookie or whatever.

It also complained about YAML so installed that as well. I had to configure the Firewall to connect.

"service squeezeboxserver status" = Running

Server is now up and running and playing music. Server configuration address, 127.0.0.1:9000

Ted

In the end I used 7.5 RPM
