Gowator
I want a nice guitar tuner, preferably with waveform display and something if possible that will break down a chord into the component notes. Any suggestions... and is it just me but I can never get kguitar to run... it just sits there at the CLI..... Gowator
Wow, thanks - I have to admit i have a 'scientists' view of music theory. My guitar teacher (a friend) is a muiscian and has difficulties explaining it in terms I understand ....

My guitar teacher (a friend) is a muiscian and has difficulties explaining it in terms I understand .... That's fine - music theory is essentially maths anyway... That makes it sound less "artistic" - but actually I think that someone who can understand music theory is better placed to create (and play) good music. I studied music full time for a couple of years a little while back - so if you have any questions just pm me - goes for anyone I guess... I'll be happy to answer them if I can (/me waits to see if he'll regret that offer :D )
emh
Hey, when you find out, let me know so I can tell my nix + guitar buddy, alright? Check out the post right above yours. There are several options. http://www.linux-sound.org/guitar.html I also know quite a bit about music theory, since I kinda sorta have a college music degree ;) So feel free to PM me with any theory questions you have, as well.
