Guest danc
I'm using Mandrake 9.2, and installed the Quake2 rpm's from the PLF site. When I try to run it, I get an error message saying "basedir is not writeable" and it fails to start. Have tried it as a user and as root, with same results. Anyone gotten this to work? What do I need to do to fix this? Thanks!
Guest danc
Hmmm... it's a little embarrassing to answer my own post, but... Got things working. Turns out I had copied the pak0.pak file from the CD to the ..quake2 directory, instead of where it belongs, which is ..quake2/baseq2. Works and looks great, even the OpenGL video is working. Any of you old-time Quake2 players should check these packages from PLF out!
grendal
quick question: does plf have the pak0pak files or do I have to remember where i put that disc......... what about ground zero and the reconning? are they also available? Ahh the good old days of Q2. Still a fun fps game!
