Obviusly on mandrake.

I'm having some troubles installing my RTL-8139D PCI fast ethernet adapter. Simply mandrake doesn't detect it, not kudzu, nor linuxconf not even drakconf.so i've tried installing it ading the module to /lib/modules/2.4.48-6mdk/kernel/drivers/net and then runing insmod 8139too.o but it returned an error:

8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_link_ok_R1c4c2d2e

8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_nway_restart_R5495f23a

8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_ethtool_sset_Rb929906a

8139too.o: unresolved symbol mii_ethtool_gset_R41f3f5d9

What does it mean? How can I fix it?

I've tried many things, includein adding alias eth0 8139too.o to the /etc/modules.conf but that didn't work either

Thankz for your help.

please, note that I'm latin so excuse my spelling.

Tnaks again for your help.

at your service always,

Re: ML 9.0 Problem with realtek 8139 on Shuttle SS51g (Score: 0)

Great !!

I had exactly the same problem as described in Cooker list on my brand new, shiny and tiny Shuttle SS51G (SIS651 FlexATX motherboard). The onboard Realtek 8139 ethernet card was recognized, the appropriate modules were loaded but the network could not be activated. This was my last showstopper.

The "noapic" trick fixes the problem.

Now I can move my main environment to 9.0.

If you search the other board http://www.club-nihil.net/mub/ for bvc81 (me) and look for my post in Network/ing, or search for Realtek, there are a lot of post about this issue. I posted the above to 20 post.
