Guest Falcon
I am installing 9.1 on a 4 gig HD, I am new to this and I'm not sure how I should partition my HD. I will basically be using this to learn on and for basic workstaion stuff (internet, email, office etc.). I will also be using it as a server. (file or web) Any recommendations? liquidzoo
Normally, I would say have partitions for at least /, /home, and your swap space. Size is up to you. Swap doesn't need to be much bigger than the amount of RAM you have on the system (assuming you have at least 128 MB) but: I will also be using it as a server. (file or web) In this case, I would also recommend a separate partition for /var so that your web stuff doesn't get overwritten if you decide in the future to install a different version.
