tux99
At this page videos of mandriva you can view the upgrade of firefox I wouldn't recommend doing it as the video shows, it's easier and better to upgrade via the official Mandriva Firefox package. AussieJohn
I agree 100% with Tux. I have 3.0.8 installed and did so just by doing regular urpmi based updates via MCC. Why do things the hard way when simple and efficient methods are available ???. Cheers. John.
ianw1974
I agree with tux99 and aussiejohn. No point in complicating things. Sometime you might have to wait a very short time for the package to appear in the repo, but that's normally not a problem if at all. daniewicz
Sometime you might have to wait a very short time for the package to appear in the repo But this is only true if you have a version of Mandriva which is less than a year old or so correct? If you are using an older version of Mandriva and don't want to go through the hassle of updating, then downloading directly from mozilla.org is a good option. See here for end of support dates: http://www.mandriva.com/en/mandriva-product-lifetime-policy Basically MDV 2008.1 will be end-of-support for desktop packages (which includes Firefox) in a few days, while base support will continue until October 15, 2009.
