Problem installing LM9.1 on Serverworks based motherboard

Hi all,

I'm running some problems installing LM9.1. It seems that I have random problems.

Here is my configuration:

- Motherboard based on a Serverworks Serverset 30LC-T chipset

- 1 P3@1GHz (one CPU only because only one socket)

- 1 GB RAM

- SCSI HDD

- etc...

I checked my CDs and everything is fine.

When I try to boot disabling ACPI, IO-APIC and SMP mode, it seems that only ACPI is disabled.

Does somebody face such problem? Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to Mandrake users....

OK,

Its the isntall from CD that's causing the problems

First things first, did you check the MD5sum

see http://www.mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?t=4638 for a really good tutorial written by a couple of the guys here :D

(thanks guys)

If it checks out OK .... well where did you get the CD's

I personally had problems with the boxsets in DVD drives....

Can you list a bit more of what connected...

It might seem irrelevant buty someone here might have had a problem and fixed it....

The more info you give us the better....

Hello again,

It seems that with the expert acpi=off, it works better. I'm still having problems with some packages but nothing relevant.

I had already checked the ISOs with md5sum and no errors. I found the ISOs on the Mandrakesoft website (ENS-cachan mirror if I remember well).

About my machine, if something seems relevant:

- PC base on a Passive backplane

- PICMG motherboard based on a Serverset 30LC-T

- ATI Rage XL Video chipset

- P3 1GHz + 1GB of SDRAM

- etc...

If you really want to have more details, have a look at PCA-6183 details on http:www.advantech.com.

Something else, what did you mean about the PCMCIA issue? I had Cooker installed on my Laptop and solved many problems about PCMCIA.

Thanks anyway.
