Did a quick google and found some links:

last one gives a howto for Ubuntu, but the procedure will be more or less the same regardless of the distro. It says using ndiswrapper, which is usually OK if the Linux kernel doesn't support it natively, or it's not an Atheros chipset, which could use madwifi instead. When all else fails, ndiswrapper can normally have you up and running. The problem is, to know more, you need to know the chipset of the card, and some info from lsusb so that it can be checked against ndiswrapper or other google searches to find out more info as to the success or failure rate.

Well, as I do not have theis adapter, I can only know that the native ralink driver ( rt73usb ) failed to work properly with that one, so ndiswrapper used to be mandatory.

But I cannot know if the newest reincarnation of the Ralink driver is working or not. Have you tried using it?

And- if you happen to use ndiswrapper, you MUST blacklist "rt73usb" module first, else it will simply fail to work.
