scarecrow
Try disabling the ipv6 module: https://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=26690 And, after that, get the full codecs package from the mplayer site: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/c...ll-20071007.zip and deflate it to your codecs directory, overwriting the existing ones. stanituo
...and deflate it to your codecs directory, overwriting the existing ones. how can I find my codecs directory to overwrite codecs you link here?
Greg2
Yep, that's an ipv6 issue. You need to add both of these lines to your /etc/modprobe.conf file alias net-pf-10 off alias ipv6 off The codecs should go in ‎/usr/lib/win32 for the PLF mplayer. stanituo
thanks, but I have overwritten /usr/lib/win32/* with all file in mplayer site codecs zip file and I unable to watch the streaming too. I have tried also this streaming: http://www.raisport.rai.it/dl/RaiSport/Pub...428db9e9f7.html and here, in the windows I can see all mplayer button (play, stop, pause) but the box is completly black and I can listen only the sound of the streaming. Are you able to watch this correctly? Wath packages have you installed? What version? I'm discouraged...
Greg2
Are you able to watch this correctly? I probably could except I receive this message: Sorry, this content is reserved to the users in the Italian country
scarecrow
I get the same as Greg2, but it seems there are no issues with it. I could probably be able to watch it, but I'm just too lazy nailing an italian proxy server. What driver are you using as output in your mplayer settings? tux99
The antenna5 stream is currently broken, that's why you are still unable to play it, it doesn't work in Windows either anymore. The IPV6 errors are irrelevant, it's just that as you have IPv6 enabled (by default) it tries IPv6 first but then tries IPv4 correctly. The RAI stream seems to work correctly for me too, but as the others I only get the message that it only works in Italy. Try right click in the RAI stream window and check your mplayer configuration, especially the video setting, change it to something else until it works. stanituo
Try right click in the RAI stream window and check your mplayer configuration, especially the video setting, change it to something else until it works. Thanks for this precious advice! Now I'm able to watch RAI streaming!!! I've right click how you tell me, and I have choose as video output: gl. It's possbile select a audio output too. And there're many other options! Now, I want to ask you what's the meaning of this video output options? - gl - x11 - xv And how can I select the best one for my pc? I consider my problem solved, may I modify the title of my post? If you have other ideas... tell me please! Thanks to all for our patience!!! tux99
gl, x11 and xv are just different driver methods to display video under X, just choose the one that works for you (some might use more cpu than others, some might not work at all depending on your graphics card). For rai.it you might want to install the following plugin too as rai.it uses M$ silverlight a lot: http://www.go-mono.com/moonlight/ Lieto di esserti stato di aiuto! Kieth
scarecrow, you stated: Personally, I avoid using gsteamer-based applications, as they never work as expected- especially with streaming media. theYinYet, you stated: Thanks for the info. I avoid gstreamer too, for the same reasons, although I now keep the libs in case of… I looked at this site gstream applications, and noticed I only had 1 application installed that uses gstreamer (amarok). I never use it, so I removed it. I have installed these: [kieth@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa | grep streamergstreamer0.10-dts-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 gstreamer0.10-decoders-1-3mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-flac-0.10.10-2.1mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg-0.10.5-2mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-0.10.10-2.1mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-a52dec-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-0.10.20-2mdv2009.0 libgstreamer0.10_0.10-0.10.20-3mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-neon-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 gstreamer0.10-musepack-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 phonon-gstreamer-4.3.0-1mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 gstreamer0.10-python-0.10.12-1mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-tools-0.10.20-3mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-soup-0.10.10-2.1mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-dv-0.10.10-2.1mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-decoders-audio-1-3mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-gsm-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0.10.20-2mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-faad-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 gstreamer0.10-mpeg-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 gstreamer0.10-mms-0.10.10-1plf2009.1 libbaconvideowidget-gstreamer0-2.24.3-3.1mdv2009.0 gstreamer0.10-pulse-0.10.10-2.1mdv2009.0 [kieth@localhost ~]$ Can I/should I delete all but the libs? Or being the computer whiz that I am, is it better to leave them? To "keep" to the topic, because of these posts, I also was able to get the raisport.it site working. The antenna5 will not work, but since tux99 said The antenna5 stream is currently broken, that's why you are still unable to play it, it doesn't work in Windows either anymore.I can't expect it to work! scarecrow
@ Kieth: gstreamer is the backend for a whole bunch of Gnome or gtk-based apps. To name a few: Quodlibet, Listen, Exaile, Rhythmbox, Banshee, Songbird, Totem... It's certainly not as broken as the dreaded Arts sound server, but it does have issues. Amarok has abandoned the gstreamer backend since ages. The only maintained engine for 1.XX series is the xine one, while for Amarok 2.XX (the one for KDE4), you can use either xine or phonon. But certainly enough, not gstreamer. Totem also has a gstreamer-based build, but it also has a xine one. I will certainly like quodlibet using another backend, but I don't bother that much about any other gstreamer-based audio/video app.
