chris:b
Thank you, MUB, for the new section. So, boys and girls, we have 30 days to fill it up :) My first question is a html related one. On my homepage I am using a fixed background image: http://home.tiscali.nl/berenstraat/lesen.htm When scrolling down to the bottom of the page, the feet of the little cat get cut off. And I don't know why. At this page (same cat, but different code), this does not happen: http://ln.hixie.ch/ What did I wrong? <body bgcolor="#ffffff" alink="#FF9933"> <div style="background:url(img/gruenkatze.png) 100% 99% fixed no-repeat;"
scoopy
They seem to display correctly for me with both Mozilla and Konq. What browser are you using? I tried following the code used at hixie.ch, but had no luck trying to find the difference. I would try either decreasing the page size in the background tag (remember the browser framing and scroll bar is taking some space) or try adding some clear space to the bottom and the right side of your cat photo for a "cushion"
tyme
it occurs for me in mozilla, as you describe anna. just wanted to confirm it, i'll see if i can find an explanation. new thoughts: you could try using a CSS stylesheet type of deal instead....see mine: http://www.geektyme.org/tymestyle.css and notice the background stuff in the body section. chris:b
Scoopy: I have this effect in all browsers, Opera, Konq, Mozilla. I'll work on the image. I'll try to understand your code, tyme. Thanks for the suggestions!
tyme
if you have any questions just ask :) my initial thoughts were getting rid of those %'s.
chris:b
... my initial thoughts were getting rid of those %'s. Lol, tyme, I did that - and the cat was sitting on the very top left. The trick was: changing the 99% to 98%. So your thoughts gave me the direction where to look. Thing is, that I wanted the cat sitting on the very bottom of the browser window - now there is some space. Ok, but I am happy with it. I guess scoopys suggestion to give some more space to the image would have done the same. Thanks to you both, problem solved!
liquidzoo
Well, if you follow tyme's stylesheet but replacing his image with yours; the cat will sit in a fixed position on the page, reguardless of where you scroll to. If you look at the logo on his page, you will see what I mean. http://www.geektyme.org It's on the bottom right.
tyme
yeah, basically it's another way of doing the same thing. btw-i like the "flame" (of course meaning the thing the flame plugin produces) you have, very nice :)

sud_crow
Mmmm.... yes i thought so.... http://www.somosinvisibles.com.ar/layout/C...assic/style.css there is my CSS file... have a look at it, i think it has something to do with the last lines where background color is redefined, but i thought it was for the tables only, not that affected the Body. Also!!! I Just Realized!!! Im now Mr. "frequent"!!! this is my 101 post!!! wow...
