Gowator
OK, I just bought a new miniPC thing. I was getting tired of you guys having these supermachines.... Anyway .. Its a 'cute' little shuttle with the NVIDIA -AMD chipset. The probem is: I can't get the NIC working. Its only got a single PCI slot (cos its tiny) and I need to get thisd working. Ahhh. As I understand the NIC is divided between the ethernet part which is driverless and the MAC part which needs a driver. The module it want is nvnet.o The downloadable RPM is compiled for 9.0 and hence older Kernel than 9.1. Also I'm using kernel-enterprise becuase I have 1GB RAM. So I tried the source rpm. Unfortunately this (and the tarball source) both give me messages about the use of kernel headers. Basically they want the kernel headers from the /lib/modules/'uname -r'/ path. ANY QUICK HINT: Options seem to be. Fix the Makefiles downgrade kernel (not preferred) stick in another NIC (a lot of trouble, the FULL size 3c5905 I have spare is too big. I need to rip apart my SME server to pull out one of the smaller NIC's and then reconfigure it.
bvc
Why not just download and/or install the kernel-headers? :?
Gowator
The makefiles need editing according to make. Ill try a fuller explanation later when Im at the box
