Guest esage
When installing new software in MCC, when it asks about the extra files necessary for installation, does Mandrake automatically install those files when you click on Install for just the single app? Or do u have to look them all up and install them one by one? Thanks in advance. :?:
MottS
Hi esage. The software installer install them all because they are dependencies for the app you want to install. In other words, the app you are trying to install requires those other programs in other to work. This is why the software installer install them all .. Hope this helps MOtTs
chris z
to elaborate a bit on what MottS said, when it asks you for those extra packages (dependencies) it will automatically install them if they are located in the source from where you're downloading. IE: if you're downloading a texstar package (for example), if there are dependencies it will tell you & will automatically download them from his source. if you're installing something from one of the MDK cd's, it will tell you what dependencies you need, then tell you which cd to insert. sometimes you may even need to insert more than 1 cd, but it will also notify you about that & prompt you when a different cd is called for. and, welcome to the forum!
