Chris H
Mandriva 2008, KDE 3.5, fully updated. The recommended driver for my printer, HP PSC 750 which I've always used is the foomatic/hpjis. Selecting this however leads to no print output, the job just stays in the queue. Selecting the gutenprint driver and all works fine. Problem is, II need to print some photos and the gutenprint is maxxed at 600dpi. Needs 1200 dpi to get some decent output. Seems like a bug, anyone seen any info on this? CUPS 1.3.6. Ta. [moved from Software by spinynorman]

i like donuts
Worth me raising a bug report regarding this? Definitely summat up with CUPS or the supplied ppd file for my printer I think there should be a bug report. It worked, but I had to install: sudo urpmi libsane-hpaio1 and I had to use hp-check to figure out the problem, etc. Can we have the printer setup install libsane-hpaio1 when it detects this printer? (that way the scanner works?)
