Plasma crashes on boot

I have my system setup for automatic login. This just started happening today, and I don't know why. When the system boots and gets to the part where it's supposed to show the desktop, I get an error and a black background, with a few programs that just pop up (FF, Skype). Last night, I was having no problem so I don't know what could've caused this.

The error says:

"A Fatal Error Occured

The application Plasma Workspace (plasma) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).

Please help us improve the software you use by filing a report..."

What can I do to get my desktop back? and to figure out what actually happened?

I use KDE4.1. For some reason, I can boot into KDE3.5 without a problem though.

It's possible that the config files have been corrupted somehow. Try this:

delete ~/.kde4/share/config/plasmarc and ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc.

If this works, then, when you log in to kde4 you will be presented with a default kde4 "desktop".
