Guest mahiles
How do I make sure that DMA is enabled for my HDD and CDRW? If I find its not enabled how would I enable it? Thanks

pmpatrick
# hdparm -v /dev/hdx For your cdrw, which runs under scsi emulation use the corresponding hdx file, not the scd0 file. Here 'x' corresponds to the device file for the drive(eg hda, hdb, hdc, etc).
Cannonfodder
Generally mandrake does it for you during the installation (installs scripts to run hdparm). If for some reason you don't have that, then you can manually insert it yourself at some appropriate location. However, you might want to search your /etc/ directory for hdparm to see if it is already being done..
