Guest akh
ok. I think I remember seeing some empty irq numbers, that I probably can use. Anyhow, after I've done that, what do I do next?
Ixthusdan
Next, I'm hoping upon boot that Mandrake will find some hradware. If it doesn't then we'll go back to the configuration tools. These are the next steps.

Guest akh
Arrg!! I want to kill someone!! Anyhow, went to bios, tried to change the irq settings, but when I changed the one for the sound card, a lot of other settings followed. (looked like sound card and video card was on the same irq, so when I changed it from 9 to 10, same thing happened with the video card and so on) So nothings changed. bvc
I've tried to separate my vid/snd irq's and can't either.....they like each other  . I have an abit MoBo and set all to auto....everything works....do you have an auto, or the like? I know auto is likely what my/our bios is calling PnP but it's all that works for me. Does harddrake see the sb live?
Guest akh
not sure, but I don't think I found something like that, no. What does this error message mean that I get when I log in then? "can't set real time scheduling priority. You need to run artswrapper as root or setuid as root" And when I do that: "error device dev/dsp can't be opened. (ls a directory)"
