Open a ternimal>su to root>urpmi pciutils

It is highly unlikely that it is not installed. Every distro installs it by default.

localhost:/# rpm -q pciutils

pciutils-2.1.11-2mdk

localhost:/# rpm -ql pciutils

/usr/bin/lspci

/usr/bin/pcimodules

/usr/bin/setpci

/usr/share/doc/pciutils-2.1.11

/usr/share/doc/pciutils-2.1.11/ChangeLog

/usr/share/doc/pciutils-2.1.11/README

/usr/share/doc/pciutils-2.1.11/pciutils.lsm

/usr/share/man/man8/lspci.8.bz2

/usr/share/man/man8/pcimodules.man.bz2

/usr/share/man/man8/setpci.8.bz2

/usr/share/pci.ids

localhost:/#

Don't open /proc/pci.....cat /proc/pci

That's

L spci

lower case l, not 1

1spci produces nothing.

I do not see a modem listed. So either the kernel does not detect it as a pci device, and you are out of luck, or it's a pcmcia modem maybe? If it's internal is not usb, so....I d/k.
