BobGuy©
I tried to add the Texstar ftp site to urpmi from the 'easy urpmi' web page but it failed. Anyone know if the ibiblio ftp site is b0rked? Or if there is another mirror that works other that the site in Turkey? # cd / [root@home /]# urpmi.addmedia texstar ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distribut...ndrake/9.1/rpms with hdlist.cz added medium texstar examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Installation CD 1 (x86) (cdrom1).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Installation CD 2 (x86) (cdrom2).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.International CD (x86) (cdrom3).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.contrib.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.plf.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.updates.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.local.cz] retrieving description file of "texstar"... retrieving source hdlist (or synthesis) of "texstar"... ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distribut.../rpms/hdlist.cz ...retrieving failed: curl failed: exited with 7 or signal 0 retrieve of source hdlist (or synthesis) failed no hdlist file found for medium "texstar" examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.texstar.cz] problem reading synthesis file of medium "texstar" unable to update medium "texstar" Whats interesting is that there is a 4.5MB hdlist.cz in there if I use gFTP to look around there. Ixthusdan
I always use gftp to get files. I just tried to log on to ibiblio.org, and it refused the connection. So, there is a problem.
gabbman
It may be that they are updating the repository, everytime I look, there seems to be new apps added as of today's date.
scoopy
You can try getting what you need from the MUB mirror. It is up at this time. ftp://213.232.94.69/pub/
tyme
usually if a repo. that was working before goes on the fritz for no reason it means it's something on the servers end. rarely is it a problem with your system-so being patient and giving it a day or two might resolve the problem. Guest anon
Were in rsync with Texstar, so like scoopy says, you can always get the latest from our own server.
BobGuy©
Thanks anon. 8) Chris z, your links didnt work for me, 'page not found' Anyways did some searching and if you're getting the error mentioned above in my first post, you can always try the following: Remove the old urpmi link and su to root in a shell, typing "urpmi.addmedia texstar http://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distribut...ndrake/9.1/rpms with hdlist.cz" without quotes. All I changed was the ftp://ftp to http://ftp and it worked. # urpmi.addmedia texstar http://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distribut...ndrake/9.1/rpms with hdlist.cz added medium texstar examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Installation CD 1 (x86) (cdrom1).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.Installation CD 2 (x86) (cdrom2).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.International CD (x86) (cdrom3).cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.contrib.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.plf.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.updates.cz] examining synthesis file [/var/lib/urpmi/synthesis.hdlist.local.cz] retrieving description file of "texstar"... retrieving source hdlist (or synthesis) of "texstar"... http://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distribut.../rpms/hdlist.cz ...retrieving done examining hdlist file [/var/cache/urpmi/partial/hdlist.texstar.cz] writing list file for medium "texstar" built hdlist synthesis file for medium "texstar" found 12 headers in cache removing 0 obsolete headers in cache write config file [/etc/urpmi/urpmi.cfg] Works fine now, installed a bunch of apps. :D
chris z
BobGuy, my posts were yanked :( so that's why that don't work. we dupe posted about the same problem. i just urpmi'd texstar's ftp site (5:00 am EST) & it's working again, so it must have been maintenance related or a temporary glitch on his end.
