IcoBgr
Hi, yesterday I installed on my laptop Mandriva 2009 and on my desktop I've updated 2008.1 to 2009. But on both computers it stopped to work the web cams. I've used dkms-gpca package before but now it is missing. What to do? How to fix my web cams to work back? A little output from lsmod and lsusb from my desktop. Here is the output from lsmod [root@icobgr icobgr]# lsmod | grep gspcagspca_zc3xx 51328 1 gspca_main 23936 1 gspca_zc3xx videodev 35712 6 tuner,bttv,gspca_main usbcore 137712 9 ub,usb_storage,gspca_zc3xx,usbhid,gspca_main,uhci_hcd,ohci_hcd,ehci_hcd Here is the output from lsusb [root@icobgr icobgr]# lsusbBus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Bus 006 Device 002: ID 05d8:4010 Ultima Electronics Corp. adamw
gspca is included in the official kernel now so there's no need for an external package. Can you describe the problem in a little more detail? 'not working' is not very informative. Thanks.
IcoBgr
I have two computers.. One desktop and one laptop Dell 1535 Studio 15. On the desktop I had installed Mandriva 2008.1 and I upgrade to Mandriva 2009 but I didn't use the upgrade function but I made update of all packages from rpmdrake. On the laptop I made a fresh isntall of Mandriva 2009 from DVD. On both computers the web camera did not work. I can try to remove the dkms-gspcav1-1.00.20-2mdv2008.1 package. Maybe this makes some problem. But for the laptop I do not know what to do. Before I had Mandriva 2008.1 on it but I deleted and made a clean install of Mandriva 2009. On both computers I have sound problems too. On the desktop I can not use the microphone with the skype and on the laptop I do not have any sound at all. Here is the promissed output from the laptop: [root@localhost icobgr]# lsmod Module Size Used by i915 36228 2 drm 76200 3 i915 af_packet 21120 2 hidp 17536 0 btusb 15512 2 bridge 51348 0 stp 6148 1 bridge bnep 16128 2 rfcomm 38800 6 l2cap 25600 17 hidp,bnep,rfcomm bluetooth 54116 9 hidp,btusb,bnep,rfcomm,l2cap ipv6 250660 12 coretemp 9856 0 binfmt_misc 12424 1 loop 18316 0 fuse 55196 4 dm_mod 55112 0 cpufreq_ondemand 10636 1 cpufreq_conservative 10248 0 cpufreq_powersave 5632 0 acpi_cpufreq 11148 1 freq_table 7680 2 cpufreq_ondemand,acpi_cpufreq nvram 11660 0 b43 153120 0 ssb 42244 1 b43 rfkill 11928 1 b43 pcmcia 37036 2 b43,ssb rng_core 8068 1 b43 mac80211 157212 1 b43 cfg80211 27144 1 mac80211 led_class 7556 1 b43 input_polldev 7304 1 b43 pcmcia_core 35348 3 b43,ssb,pcmcia snd_hda_intel 409488 4 snd_hwdep 10884 1 snd_hda_intel uvcvideo 58504 0 snd_seq_dummy 6660 0 compat_ioctl32 5120 1 uvcvideo snd_seq_oss 33664 0 usbhid 50368 0 snd_seq_midi_event 10240 1 snd_seq_oss snd_seq 51312 5 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi_event snd_seq_device 10252 3 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq ff_memless 8712 1 usbhid video 20240 0 videodev 35712 1 uvcvideo snd_pcm_oss 41632 0 sdhci_pci 11136 0 v4l1_compat 18052 2 uvcvideo,videodev tg3 123652 0 sdhci 18692 1 sdhci_pci output 6656 1 video snd_pcm 72964 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm_oss mmc_core 49052 1 sdhci wmi 9640 0 i2c_i801 12816 0 libphy 20224 1 tg3 snd_timer 23816 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm snd_page_alloc 11784 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm joydev 13888 0 snd_mixer_oss 18304 2 snd_pcm_oss battery 14212 0 button 10000 0 iTCO_wdt 14368 0 i2c_core 24212 1 i2c_i801 ac 8068 0 intel_agp 29764 1 thermal 19100 0 processor 37292 4 acpi_cpufreq,thermal iTCO_vendor_support 7044 1 iTCO_wdt evdev 13216 10 rtc_cmos 13472 0 snd 52772 15 snd_hda_intel,snd_hwdep,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm_oss,snd_pcm,s nd_timer,snd_mixer_oss agpgart 32840 3 drm,intel_agp soundcore 10080 2 snd dcdbas 10784 0 sr_mod 18884 0 sg 34736 0 ndiswrapper 186908 0 sbp2 24460 0 ohci1394 32944 0 ieee1394 82116 2 sbp2,ohci1394 ata_piix 20356 0 ahci 32396 5 libata 155296 2 ata_piix,ahci dock 11792 1 libata sd_mod 37656 6 scsi_mod 138188 5 sr_mod,sg,sbp2,libata,sd_mod crc_t10dif 5760 1 sd_mod ext3 128136 2 jbd 46868 1 ext3 uhci_hcd 26128 0 ohci_hcd 27280 0 ehci_hcd 37900 0 usbcore 137712 8 btusb,uvcvideo,usbhid,ndiswrapper,uhci_hcd,ohci_hcd,ehci_hcd [root@localhost icobgr]# lsusb Bus 002 Device 002: ID 05ca:18a0 Ricoh Co., Ltd Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Bus 003 Device 005: ID 413c:8156 Dell Computer Corp.
