do a google search using the linux specific google search: www.google.com/linux for HSP56 and you might find some stuff. sorry to use the old "search boy, search!" response, but I really don't know much about this modem :)

Ok i've been talkin with MV on the phone and the driver is from

http://www.ecs.com.tw/download/driver_modem_m.htm

It does include a precompile but that only works with GCC2 based systems.

So we tried compiling.

Upon running make i get a helluva lot of errors.

I have do have the kernel source installed

IS there another driver? i think it's because the driver is fo 2.2 kernel

Ok i've found a different driver.

http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/pctel-linux/

Now i was able to get this to compile on my system no problem. (i didn' install as i don't have that modem)

mv will probably try it tomorrow sometime.

Ayway this new driver is suitable for 2.4 kernels. We are both still running the default 2.4.21-0,13mdk
