that would mean recompiling the RPMs from source (src RPMs which you can get on the mirrors), and would take for-freaking-ever, but it could be done.

Yeah, and it would literally take months on my computer. You've seen the specs.

And Gowator, what cd are you talking about?

Sorry a bit late but I have the CD.

It came with a French mag but you can install in English

Basically a cut down single Cd install.

If your interested Ill mail the package list.

Yep that package list would be good, we might save some time.

OK - an update on rolling a mini-mdk.

i've been working on doing the 1 Cd mandrake distro, using http://members.shaw.ca/mandrake/drakx/9.0/...L/section8.html as a base. I installed a box with only the software i wanted (and its dependencies), then used rpm -qa to get a list of what rpms where on it. From that i made the myRPMS directory as explained in the howto, which should be used by the mkcd script to build the installation cd.

That didn't seem to work at all, so i tried using the MakeCD script (also on the first mandrake cd - under <cd1>/misc.

~/master_cd/MakeCD -t 9.1 -a -c 1 cd

This worked better - listing packets that had dependency problems. sorted out all the dependencies apart from the last (and most important) one:

REJECTED master disc 1 basesystem-9.0-3mdk.i586 (Needed dependency could not be put before: 102 103)

i've mounted the iso that it's made, and basesystem is missing...

any ideas how to get round this?

any help appreciated!
