tetsujin29
Hi, I just installed mandriva Spring 2008 onto my HD. Can someone give me a quick guide on how to get a portable USB drive recognized by Mandriva? Thanks very much.
coverup
Why do you think it is not recognized? Connect the drive, then boot the computer. Do you see the drive?
Greg2
You shouldn't have to boot with it plugged in. With the system booted up and running, attach the USB drive and post the output of dmesg |tail -n 15 This could also be as simple as doing a right-click on your desktop > configure desktop > behavior > device icons > check the 'mounted removable medium' and the 'unmounted removable medium' boxes. tetsujin29
Thank you. It was just a matter of making the icons visible - the USB drive was already mounted automatically. Mandriva has so much potential and functionality - I really enjoy learning about it more and more.
