Don't know if a lot of people have heard or used this before, but I thought I would post some good reading material, the first link on the third pages tells how you can get the .rpm's and .deb's.

In theory, very interesting. When I get a chance I will have to give it a run. Anyone out there using UML?

I tried it about 18 months ago. It was interesting. When you think about it though, whenever you go into a chrooted environment, you're pretty much doing the same thing, with the exception of the fact that you're not running a different kernel.

thats one of the points it allows you to run several different kernels or configs. this allows you to test stuff without forking up your main box.

Yes it is. My real point, until I was distracted locally, was that you shouldn't be afraid to give it a try, especially if you've ever played around in a chrooted environment - it's not that difficult, and it's not going to mess up your current distro.
