AA
I am running a debian mail server. woody v3 The mail server uses exim to recieve mail and cyrus to send. The troubling part is that I get a lot of spam and can't for the life of me figure out how to blacklist specific email addresses and in some cases even hosts, so that I dont get any more mail from those addresses. The mail server is for a whole network so it's not just personal spam I want to stop. I would also like to avoid using other software to do this. Is there simply a file I can edit or an entry I can add to stop the spam. Your thought on this matter would be appreciated... ta AA

jlc
How about SpamAssassin? http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/spamassassin....org/index.html
qnr
http://www.exim.org/exim-html-3.30/doc/htm...filter_toc.html This if for the .forward file, to be used on a user by user basis. It provides useful information though, and a starting point (link) for getting to the system-wide filtering. Doesn't so much blacklist it as divert it from your regular mailbox
