i am a total newbie in the linux world..... and like all newbies I have problems with mandrake... and the thing that bothered me a lot the last few days is the "qt" thing... although I have instaled it... most of the programs I try to install print out an error message:"Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0.3) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!" (this one was printed out by the kdevelop ./configure)... what should I do... please help... and thank you in advance.....

Can you give us some more information about your installation?

- What version of Mandrake did you install?

- Where did you get the programs you want to install?

I have the impression that you have an older version of Mandrake, and you try now to install programs that need newer versions of libraries etc.

Recommendation for a beginner (to make your life easier): get a complete set of CDs of a Mandrake version, and install only programs from this unique set. This should avoid such problems.

BertoldK: I have mandrake 9.0 with KDE 3.. so I don't think that I have a problem with the version..

DragonMage: I have libqt3 and libqt3-devel already installed on my system....... should I install libqt ???
