tyme
i would guess, look in php's main directory (possibly somewhere in var?) and make sure the install and contrib directories inside that main directory are deleted? :|
shen
in the main folder that you installed phpbb software there will be an install and contrib folder. Those folders need to be deleted in order to load phpbb... These folders are specific to PHPBB2 and not folders that are installed within Linux itself. Gowator
 I knew I had to delete them, I just wanted it working first. Doh.... Guest anon
In earlier phbb versions, deleting those files was a sugestion for security reasons, but if you didn't, phpbb would still work. With the latest versions, you can't finish the install unless you remove them.
Gowator
OK Now I did something really stupid I tried out the no-ip.com and it worked great, except the sme-server (sep post) doesn't have a config for it (call tech support) I was running it therefore on a different PC which would still get the same IP through the NAT. It did have a dyndns.org so ..... I decided to try it. It works greast too BUT some of the links, specifically admin and login are set to .no-ip.com I managed to get in by aliasing my IP ... I presume its set in mysql .... but anyone know where .... Comeone guys, you must be experts
Gowator
Seems OK..... http://peanuts.lhomelinux.com First page is rather over functional ... :-) Last link is broken or direct to an almost empty forum at http://peanuts.homelinux.com/phpBB2/ Not sure you'd want the hack documenting ....
