But when I try to run a movie trailer there is no sound. I'm using opera 9.5 ...... Just tried firefox, seems to work fine there. must be a opera problem anyway any ideas Thanks Nic [moved from Games by Greg2]

David Batson
I had a problem listening to Live365 Internet Radio with Opera 9.50 in Mandriva, but not in Windows. I found there was a missing MIME type that I had to add in the Linux version of Opera. I suspect you are having a similar problem. You could try the following which worked for my problem: In Opera, go to Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Downloads > Add > for MIME type enter audio/x-scpls, and for File extensions enter pls, then click on the radio button Open with other application. I chose /usr/bin/amarok as the application to open it with, but you could use mplayer, totem, or something else. If adding the above MIME type doesn't work, try to determine which file extension is trying to play and add the appropriate MIME type for that file extension. synthecin
how about this one http://incrediblehulk.marvel.com/ works fine in firefox, But in opera, i just get a grey box And there's this one http://www.expelledthemovie.com/playground.php ... actually this one works and there's http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/wa...mall/final.html Thanks Nic Edited July 5, 2008 by synthecin
David Batson
how about this one http://incrediblehulk.marvel.com/works fine in firefox, But in opera, i just get a grey box Works for me. I have Mandriva 2008.1 Powerpack. I am using the latest version of Opera 9.51. One applicable change I have made to Opera is adding the MIME type I mentioned above (when I had 9.50 installed). Your problem could very likely be Adobe Flash. I downloaded the latest Adobe Flash (version 9.0.124.0) from Adobe and installed that version. Make sure that you you have /usr/lib/flash-plugin in your plug in paths for Content. You might need to remove usr/lib/netscape/plugins from your plugin path (I read this may cause a problem in the Opera forums).

I watched the trailer. No issues. On the second page I clicked on Super trailer right on that page. The video seemingly started to play. I could see a "The following preview is..." screen to appear but then a white block appeared and the trailer didn't play. However when I clicked on "Watch more Expelled trailers" I could watch all the trailers. These two are flash videos so you should check your installation of the Flash plugin. Btw I have Opera 9.51 from the Mandriva rpm package which I downloaded from opera.com. The last link didn't work for me either like almost all of the trailers on apple.com. I can't watch them with Firefox either. It's likely a codec issue for me.
