Hi

Installed Mandriva 2008 spring free edition. Works fine. When I selected Matisse option in 3D Desktop setting "Shutdown Menu" "Restart Menu"disappeared from from log out menu. Only "End Current Session" is available. I have to switch to command line to get the machine halted. When Metisse option is disabled everything came back.

Please help

If they are not there, it will either be because of your desktop. If you use Gnome, and your display manager is kdm, then you won't get the options. If you use Gnome, your display manager should be gdm. If you use KDE, then kdm.

Try this: disable 3D desktop and make sure the shutdown and restart options are back in place then re-enable it and see if they stick around this time.

If that doesn't work, post here again.

When 3D effect is disabled everything is back in place. The problem crops only when I select Mettise in 3D Desktop.

I am Using KDE.

I had this problem with pclos and it turned out to be a problem with xgl. Go to the mcc - hardware - 3d desktop and in the advanced section choose something that is not xgl, native something is what I remember. I'm not at my linux machine at the moment.

I think you'll be pleased.
