fisher
Hello I've just installed Mandriva 2008 Spring, and used Easyurpmi to add the Official and PLF repos. I installed the non-fluendo multimedia codecs from Codeina, and also VLC media player. Well now I can play all the video and sound files I have, but Konqueror only previews .avi video files. How do I get Konqueror to preview sound files and other types of video files? Please help me.
medo3891
If it's previewing .avi then it should be previewing other video files as well, so I don't know what's wrong at your end. To preview sound files (this should be enabled by default) in konqueror open view>preview.

scarecrow
There is a package for KDE thats does that. I cant think of it right now - maybe connected with mplayer. kmplayer, that is. Worky, using either the xine-lib or mplayer backend. kaffeine is also supposed to do that (uing xine-lib), but previewing is more miss and less hit.
