Ixthusdan
Arch can't locate the module. I'm looking for it, to see if it is really not there. I can't believe it didn't come with the kernel setup in abs.
tyme
funny, it came with my 2.4.21 kernel..... :? if all else fails, just use abs to get all the kernel sources, copy them from the abs dir to /usr/src/linux-2.4.21 and then link that to /usr/src/linux, go get the source for the modules over at http://sourceforge.net/projects/emu10k1/ and then compile them anew. i had to do that, as the stock emu10k1 module just spat out a bunch of unresolved symbol errors or something like that. addition: searching for emu10k1 on the arch linux forums will provide some info, also. plus, i had to add ac97_codec and emu10k1 to the MODULES= line in /etc/rc.conf someone suggest adding alias sound-slot-0 emu10k1 to the modules.conf file, but it didn't work in my case.
