Ixthusdan
As far as wine, I am a non-believer! But, for kde, go to the kde control center (not the Mandrake control center), and there you will find what you want under Appearances and themes. (or something like that. I am in Gentoo at the moment! ) As for sound, please tell me what kind of sound card you have. Oh, and your video, did you get the nvidia drivers at www.nvidia.com ?? Ixthusdan
OK, back in Mandrake. Go to K button> Configuration>Control Center. Then choose look n feel>style, or color, or window decorations to fully customize you environment.
Ixthusdan
Installing nvidia: reboot, and at lilo, hit esc, and type linux 3 login as your user. Navigate to the nvidia file. (if you download it to your /home/user directory, you will already be there.) Type su , and enter your root password. type sh nvidiafilename.run and let it do its thing. Then, type mc This will launch a psuedo graphic file manager. Navigate to /etc/X11/XFConfig-4 Hit the F4 key to enter edit mode. Scroll down to the Sectio "Device" Look for a line that reads Driver "nv" and change it to read Driver "nvidia" Hit F2 to save, and hit F10 twice. Type reboot and your done!! Simple!! :mystismiles:

tyme
instead of the whole mc step, just do this: vi /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 scroll down to the section mentioned, type i to get into insert mode, made the modifications suggestion, type the ESC key, then type :q to quit (if it asks you if you want to save, say yes-obviously)

VeeDubb
I think I know why your sondcard doesn't work. I have the same card and mine wouldn't have worked if I hadn't known better. For whater retarded reason, mandrake installed the Audigy10k() driver for the soundblaster Live! Of course, it's not an audigy or even an audigy compatible chipset, you need to open up mcc and change the driver from audigy to emu10k() works like a champ. volume is a litle low by de3fault, but kmix or the gnome equivilant if you go gnome will fix that. Guest Graeme43
During setup i chose emu10k1 () though
