Welcome to the board!

We need more info to help you. What version of Linux, and what release are you using? How do you mount the flash drive? How are you trying to safely remove the flash drive?

Thanks All,..

I'am new in linux and using Mandriva One 2008.0 as main OS

kernel 2.6.4

I just plug my Flash disk and double klik .txt file, Kwrite run and open that file

After that I close KWrite, But when I safely remove the flash dish, there is spome error like

Unfortunately, the device system:/media/sdb1 (/dev/sdb1) named 'NAJMUN' and currently mounted at /media/NAJMUN could not be unmounted.

Unmounting failed due to the following error:

Device is Busy:

Moreover, programs still using the device have been detected. They are listed below. You have to close them or change their working directory before attempting to unmount the device again.

/media/NAJMUN: admin 7649 ....m kio_thumbnail

tis error occure when open (double Klik)some type of file like .txt .htm .jpg .png and .ttf but in some type of file like .pdf and .doc this error doesn't occur.

after I plug my Flash Disk, it automaticcally appear in storage device...

To safely remove the flashdisk, I just right click on the flash disk icon an simplify click safely remove ..

Have you checked that all processes associated with KWrite are actually dead?

I didn't know how to check it. I simplify close the KWrite. Is there any program link Task Manager like in WinXP?

There might be some background process hogging the file. Kill it and see if that helps.

May be.. Help me how to know it..

/media/NAJMUN could not be unmounted

This looks like an old KDE bug with .ttf file thumbnails. AFAIK, it was fixed over a year ago.

Is the name of your flash drive NAJMUN?

Please open a terminal (with the drive attached) and post the output of

does this output show the drive attached at /media/disk or /media/NAJMUN?

Now try to safely remove the disk, and when it fails; Please post the output of

/sbin/fuser -v /media/disk/*

Alternatively, if the disk is attached at /media/NAJMUN, post the output of

/sbin/fuser -v /media/NAJMUN/*
