pmpatrick Posted February 26, 2008 Report Share Posted February 26, 2008 After the recent flac/xine security updates amarok will no longer play flac files. In fact, all xine based players(totem, kaffeine, xine-ui) also no longer can play flac files. Audacious is able to play all my flac files however. I have installed the updated fix for the flac/xine packages but the problem remains. Running xine-ui from the command line I get this output when attempting to play any flac file: Playlist file (/home/patrick/Music/Flac/David Gans - Lazy River Road.flac) is invalid.AFD changed from -2 to -1 Prior to this update, flac files played fine in all my players. RadioEar Posted February 29, 2008 Report Share Posted February 29, 2008 Well, no. Never lost anything after an up date, but anything can happen. I know xine uses plug ins for the different file formats, maybe the plug in for FLAC was corrupt or was not included in the up date. I use Amarok for all my music which use xine and never had this happened to any of my audio formats in my library.
