tyme
so unless I buy the powerpack I cant downgrade then...As dude67 said, you can use Mandriva Free. You could also probably find the RPM of the older driver someone and just force install that with urpmi. for that alone I should go back to ubuntu as at least I have a way to back things up with it...sigh Not trying to be mean, but, "threatening" to "go back to ubuntu" is kind of useless on this board. We don't care what distribution you use. Use whatever works. We only care that you use Linux :D
Greg2
In order to complete this thread, I'm going to post a quote from Gavin Lewarne on the Club Forum you guys its a problem with the upstream x11-driver-video-intel version 2.2.0 release. remove it and use rpm drake to re-install the 2.1.4 version that originally came with mandy 2008. then add /^intel/ to your /etc/urpmi/skip.list so it wont get updated it again. have had exactly the same problems and this is the only solution i have found from here: forum.mandriva.com I will also provide a direct link to the rpm, here: x11-driver-video-intel-2.1.1-4mdv2008.0.i586.rpm Cheers
