theYinYeti Posted April 25, 2003 Report Share Posted April 25, 2003 You may already have read that I have a (still-unsolved) issue with authentication for LDAP on Mdk9.1, whereas all worked well with Mdk8.1. (See http://mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?t=4714) Now I have another problem, still related to authentication! As I had a bad experience trying to use Courier-IMAP (see http://mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?p=33107#33107), I now tried to use BincIMAP, which is much simpler, and only relies on checkpassword-pam, which in turns simply relies on PAM. I thought: this has to work; it is so simple... Well no. It does not work :-( The server itself is (as advertised) easy to install and setup. It ran within minutes, and I soon got access to it from Mozilla. So I try to suscribe, and Mozilla asks the passord for 'yves' (myself). I give my password (the one I use for logging in), and it always returns the "authentication failed" message. So what's the matter with Mdk9.1 authentication? What can I do? Yves.
