dexter11
The second pre-release of Mandriva Linux 2008 Spring is here. This pre-release brings - * a near-final snapshot of KDE 4.0 * new NVIDIA and ATI drivers * the chance to test the experimental nouveau open source driver for NVIDIA cards * kernel 2.6.24rc7 and more. See here for download information. As far as testing goes, for this pre-release we are particularly interested in testing PulseAudio, hardware detection and hibernation support. Please report any problems with sound functionality, and any mis-detected or un-detected hardware, to Bugzilla.
RVDowning
Don't really understand the file sizes on this site: http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca/pub/distro/Man.../2008.1/alpha2/ For the three cds we have: mandriva-linux-2008-spring-free-cd1-i586.iso = 694 M mandriva-linux-2008-spring-free-cd2-i586.iso = 697 M mandriva-linux-2008-spring-free-cd3-i586.iso = 662 M For the one dvd we have: mandriva-linux-2008-spring-free-dvd-i586.iso = 300M Seems the cds must have a lot of over head. ??? EDIT Went to another site: http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/distr.../2008.1/alpha2/ and the dvd size was reasonable: 4.3G Edited January 14, 2008 by RVDowning
Ixthusdan
Not only do you have to check before downloading, but after you have in installed, the software sources need to be updated prior to running updates, almost daily. As it is. I have several updates that cannot install, probably because of rsync on the mirror I use.
