Greg2
Good, I'm glad you didn't give up. :) I'm sorry I don't have an HP printer to help you more... I use Epson. I have registered on the 'official' forum today, and I've also read your additional note to the bug report. So you can ask me for help here or there. rm42
Greg, It is good to have you around. Without your encouragement I would have given up and the HPLIP maintainer may have ended up backporting the wrong version of the package. That would have been a shame. At least now we know, or at least I think we know, the version that we need. Thanks a lot.
Greg2
The one on PCLinuxOS is version 2.7.10-2 and it worked flawlessly. The hplip-2.7.12-1mdv2008.1.src.rpm is available in the /devel/cooker/SRPMS.
Greg2
It looks like rm42 isn't coming back here. So for completeness of this thread, I will note that the hplip-2.7.12 is in 2008.0/main/backports now. It has been tested and resolves this issue. This thread can be marked as solved.
