Artificial Intelligence
It's a terminal I saw some years back. I think I saw it at Red Hat. When you move the mouse to the edge of the screen the terminal shows up and when you're done with it, it can automatically hidden itself. Thanks. A.I. speedball2
Yakuake? It's similar, like a quake console.

tyme
I believe both yakuake (KDE) and tilda (GNOME) are activated by a key press, not by moving your mouse to the edge of the screen - but they both function in the way you want, appearing on key press (I think F12 for yakuake, I forget what it is for tilda) and disappearing when you press it again. Greg2
I use tilda with both KDE and Gnome, that's how I caught the typo. :) The default key is F1, but it can be set to use any key. It can also be made completely transparent.
