Hi,

I really like the KDE desktop on my Mandriva One 2008 and i have done some screenshots and would like to send them to my HD volume what my Windows is on but it won't let me.

I cant upload the pics to an internet server as i cant configure my connection.

I was thinking, in Windows if i add another primary partition about 2gb big and in the file system FAT32 will i be able to put the pics into there and access them from Windows?

I'm guessing your Windows partition is NTFS, and that's why Mandriva can't write to it. You can install an extra package (ntfs-3g) which allows Mandriva to write to NTFS, however I've never tried it because I'm scared it might upset Windows. This is probably unfounded though.

What I use is as you say a small FAT32 partition which both Mandriva and XP can read from and write to. This is easy as long as you have room for an extra partition without having to resize the Windows partition - if not it's possible but more tricky.

Simplest solution would be to use a USB stick or something similar - then both systems can read and write ok.

Or you could as a slower solution just email the pictures to yourself but if you can't configure your internet connection then that's no good.

You might want to open a new thread asking about your internet connection with Mandriva - in particular describe whether it's a wired or wireless connection, and whether you've installed One or are just running it from the CD.
