Guest bowmandm21
Installed Mandriva One 2008 on a Toshiba Satellite P205-S6287. All hardware has been recognized, which is great, compared to other distros I have tried. However, after installing and using VirtualBox sometimes the system grinds to a halt. I found that the bottleneck is the RAM. It gets maxed out. I have 2GB RAM installed, but free only reports 905800 MB. I'm a relative newbie. My guess is that the problem lies here... In Mandriva Linux Control Center, under Hardware, under 'Unknown.Others' it has two entries: 1) Identification Vendor: ?TOSHIBA Description: ?TOSHIBA Connection Bus: ?DMI Vendor ID: ?0x0000 Device ID: ?0x0000 Sub vendor ID: ?0x0000 Sub device ID: ?0x0000 Misc Module: ?Module:toshiba --------------------------- 2) Identification Vendor: ?TOSHIBA Description: ?TOSHIBA Connection Bus: ?DMI Vendor ID: ?0x0000 Device ID: ?0x0000 Sub vendor ID: ?0x0000 Sub device ID: ?0x0000 Misc Module: ?Pkg:toshutils Thanks for any help.
