Guest moStudio Posted October 20, 2007 Report Share Posted October 20, 2007 Hi I used Mandriva One 2008 and I was amazed by the 3D desktop and was working very well but when I installed the full free DVD ... it says that my system don't support 3D desktop !! what the problem !! ? help please because I love that 3D effect so much . {BBI}Nexus{BBI} Posted October 20, 2007 Report Share Posted October 20, 2007 Log out, go to commandline (Alt&Ctrl&F1), log in as root and run XFdrake. Select your card, opt for the proprietary driver when given the choice. Do the test to make sure all is well. Exit root mode then press Alt&F7 to return to your login screen, log back in and select 3D desktop from the MCC. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
arctic Posted October 20, 2007 Report Share Posted October 20, 2007 ONE has the propriatary drivers fro nvidia and ati included, while Free is ... well ... free, based on the principles of the Free Software foundation. That means that it does not ship with proprietary drivers. They have to be installed later using the online repositories available e.g. through easyurpmi (link at top of page).
