multios Posted October 10, 2007 Report Share Posted October 10, 2007 I just downloaded and installed Mandriva Linux release 2008.0 (Official) for i586. For me and the machine I built, this is the best one so far. This, for me, is the first distro that my soundcard(chip ens1371) set up correctly with alsa at first boot. I also run pclinuxos, but use the oss driver with it. The 2008 installation was smooth and error free. Installed to hd and only had to download Thunderbird wihich I prefer for email. Everything is working like a charm and it puts me back to using Mandriva again. Good job Mandriva and developers. Thanks for a great distro.
