Partition an XP box for Linux with Cdisk [solved]

Recommended Posts

Help! I am in the middle of trying to do a HD install of Damn Small Linus on an old Satellite Laptop. I have the machine booted up off the DSL live CD and am in Cfdisk. The "Bash" screen currently looks like this:

hda 1 Boot Primary Linux Swap 254.99

hda 5 (Blank) Logical Linux 5749.48

The "Write" option is highlighted and beneath it it says :-

"Write Partition Table to Disk (this might destroy data).

I don't care if I loose the XP operating system at all but I do want to at least use the live CD on this machine. I have a feeling of impending doom - could someone please advise me on my next move. :D
