sglafata
It seems like the update repositories have not been working lately? They seem to be falling behind in updates when compared to the Security Advisories. Does anybody know what is going on?
tyme
Security Advisories will always come out first, and will always be taken care of much faster than standard updates. Also note that Mandriva doesn't do full version upgrades (IIRC) within a given version of the distribution, so if the programs are jumping to new versions (like GNOME going to 2.20) they won't be updated except in upcoming releases. Not to mention, with a new version coming out soon, they are probably pretty busy cleaning bugs and getting it ready for release.
ianw1974
If a security advisory is released and they've fixed it, there would be an update. Otherwise, they won't release updates unless they are needed. Usually bug fixes would be the other types of updates released. So, if nothing released, then I would assume all is almost OK :) so no need to worry.
jkerr82508
I believe that Mandriva have had "hardware" problems and security updates have not been released to the mirrors for about a week. Jim
adamw
yes, this comes down to a hardware issue. one of our main internal machines, ken, started having troubles around a week ago. we transferred as many of its functions as possible to another machine, raoh. however, raoh didn't have enough disk space to take over all its functions, and in the adjustment, transfer of security updates from the internal to the external server got disabled. I think it's been fixed now, so the recent updates should now be getting out to public mirrors over the next day or two.

sglafata
Yeah.... I understand how the updates work, but like I had said it's been falling behind. Thanks for the update, Adam.
