Mandriva 2008 and wireless

I have MDV 2008, kernel 2.6.22 and problem with my wireless card

System create new config wmaster0 on custom drivers rt61pci

If I can start network

SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not supported

Failed to bring up wmaster0.

 

I create new cfg file not wmaster0 only wlan0

 

If I run

 

ifup wlan0

 

Netwok starting up but I can't connect to Internet. System is stability and speedy. This is beta version but fine working. If ane sugestions, please help....Lex

2008 is using the new Devicescape wireless network stack (that's the 'mac80211' in the output above). Basically, in Beta 1, it's just broken. Only one of the devicescape drivers work, none of the others do.

 

We've just updated the wireless code in the kernel today, so it'll be newer in Beta 2, and might work better. But for Beta 1, it's not going to work - you're better off with ndiswrapper.

Thanks, have you seen that new beta2? I havn't windows but drivers for windows on CD. How to use ndiswrapper?

Hmm, same problem issue in MDV 2007 Spring when I install 2.6.22 kernel.

Yes, reconfigure on wlan0. System supposedly started net_applet is up, but I havn't connection to Internet? :angry2:

Wmaster0 create automaticly during starting system

Hi, problem solved. I download Mandriva Spring and here is only newest driver rt61pci not old rt61. Any distro not worked with rt61pci driver on my card (Ralink), why? ......Lex
