ilia_kr
We've released version 2.0.1 of Pidgin (formerly Gaim). This is a bugfix release addressing over 100 bugs reported in 2.0.0. Keep those bugs coming in, and we'll continue making regular, frequent releases. http://pidgin.im/

scarecrow
Wow, that was quick Way faster than it will be in Slackware, anyway! By the way, it's horribly buggy, as ever. Version 2.0.1 always fails to connect to ICQ for me, because of "wrong password" - while kopete, sim, licq and practically every other client would have no trouble at all... tyme
By the way, it's horribly buggy, as ever.I haven't noticed any bugs...on Windows or Linux. But I only use it for AIM and Google Talk.
scarecrow
I have used gaim only under Linux, and mostly for ICQ. Under windoze I prefer SIM-IM, or Miranda (on lo-spec machines). The silly thing is that a good friend of mine CAN connect via ICQ, and he's using same distro, same pidgin build (and different system encoding- he's using de_DE.UTF8, while mine is el_GR.UTF8)... but we have difficulties exhanging messages with greek locales (with kopete or sim there are no issues, other than the inability to exchange files- and that's why I decided to re-try gaim/pidgin). I cannot understand why the heck it is rejecting my login credentials, but... oh well.
