studmuffin007
Just going through an Ubuntu forum and came across this, is Mandriva a failing company? and if so what will happen to MAndriva if it goes belly up?. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=450556
dexter11
Failing? In which meaning of the word? Does it make any profit? No. Like other Linux companies. Does it make a good distro? Yes. What will happen if Mandriva goes bankrupt? Who knows? Time will tell. Edited May 22, 2007 by dexter11
scarecrow
It will have the same fate Ubuntu will have in the unlikely case Debian folds, or Shuttleworth dies. I'd rather decline commenting what has been told in the above thread, else I will not be polite. It's well known that Mandriva has big financial problems, but it will not die- in the worst case scenario it will be acquired by HP or another company that has ties with it.
