eroica Posted April 24, 2007 Report Share Posted April 24, 2007 hello, am having couple of problems w/spring 2007. one being that I cant mount floppy or my cd-rw. i get error about no entry in either fstab or mtab and sure enough I looked and there isnt. When I updated from 2007.0 it seems it should have made those entries? Anyway are we still using using the fstab for mounting or is there something else that took its place? also what would be the appropriate entries.thanx... I only did a cursory look last night @ update but I didnt notice a later kernel. Anyhow i issued the following to fstab and am working ok. /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto rw,noauto,user,sync 0 0 /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto rw,noauto,user,exec 0 0 but still. how can we expect to grow Linux when a simple install disables floppy & cd?
