poor 'view' in firefox

my firefox on mandriva 2007 looks poor. I mean that its grainy and not a clear rendering of what i see in windows someone has suggested it could be my xorg settings what and how and is it even do i change these? any ideas folks and thanks in advance! :unsure:

You need the mscorefonts, if you have a windows partition or cd you can use the mandriva control center (mcc from a console) to install them (under system->manage ....blabla...fonts)

You also need to get the plf version of freetype, I think the package you need is libfreetype6 (set up plf by using easyurpmi: http://www.mandrivausers.org/easyurpmi/index.php )

 

and then if you use kde enable and configure anti-aliasing in de kde control center (kcontrol from a console) and maybe also configure FF to make websites use their own fonts (under edit->preferences->content->advanced button)
