Richard1098
After upgrading to the latest version of Firefix, I now get the following error when starting Firefox and Epiphany: "Could not initialize the browsers security components. The most likely cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions..." .mozilla in my /home directory has read write access for my account and my group's account. scarecrow
Which version? On some older FF versions you had to run it first time as root, and after that session it was possible to run the program as plain user.
Timppl
This was a regression in the build for firefox. The latest version gets rid of this message.
neddie
Sounds very similar to a problem I had with Thunderbird recently (see here). That also appeared directly after a firefox update. Whether it was Mandriva's QA or Mozilla's/Firefox's I don't know, but the problem was fixed a couple of days later with a further firefox update.
